The story goes that when the Stratford Festival shipped its costumes for the tour of King Lear starring Christopher Plummer to New York’s Lincoln Centre, someone there called to say: “These look like museum pieces.”

It was a beautiful compliment to the quality of craftsmanship and design that makes each of our costumes its own work of art. Similarly, the members of our props department bring unparalleled ingenuity and artistry to their creations. The work of these great designers and artisans can lend tremendous theatrical magic to your own production.

With more than 50,000 costumes pieces and countless props and set pieces, our Costume and Props Warehouse is one of the largest in the world.
