      FESTIVAL GARDENS

Our magnificent gardens are tended by Festival staff who are very knowledgeable about their work. Carefully labelled throughout, they are a plant lover's paradise, very popular with locals and visitors alike.

      Festival Theatre
There is always something to see in the Festival Gardens. Tulips, narcissus and other early varieties bloom in March and April, when plays are still in rehearsal. Peonies bloom in late spring and early summer, while day lilies put on a mid-summer show. Ornamental grasses flourish throughout the year. Take time to tour them all, but don't miss The Arthur Meighen Gardens, The Elizabethan Garden and the Carpet Garden.

      Tom Patterson Theatre
Stunning community gardens provide riverside vistas and invite guests and visitors to stroll through undulating plantings layered with indigenous species. Designed to be tactile and beautiful, a number of seating areas are nestled throughout, inviting quiet contemplation and stunning views of the Avon River. A garden honouring native planting traditions is planned for future seasons.

To learn more about our gardens, attend this season's Meighen Forum event about Shakespearean Gardens and our theatre gardens with Stratford Festival Head Gardener, Joelle Bulbrook.
