Oppression takes many forms. It can be political as well as cultural, there’s the weight of inherited oppression, and there’s the question of how oppression shapes who we are, both individually and collectively. CBC Ideas host Paul Kennedy moderates a discussion featuring Remzi Cej, human rights activist and former Kosovar refugee; Christina Gray, a senior research associate with the International Law Research Program at the Centre for International Governance Innovation; Bhutila Karpoche, Ontario NDP MPP and the first person of Tibetan heritage elected to public office in North America; and Eloge Butera, a lawyer and former Rwandan refugee who works in the office of the Minister for Public Safety and served as an honorary witness for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
