ARCHITECTURE OF CAESAR'S ROME

Rick Haldenby of the University of Waterloo takes you on a visual journey through the spaces, places and buildings of ancient Rome, with special attention to the settings of the events described by Shakespeare. The talk will explore the political, spiritual and historical reverberations of Caesar’s reconstruction of the city. A former director of the University of Waterloo’s School of Architecture, Mr. Haldenby is the founder of the university’s Rome Program and has been involved in archeological work in Italy, Carthage and Malta.
