Dante's Inferno: A Hybrid Concert and Dramatized Lecture
Presented by DopoLavoro Teatrale (DLT)
This co-creation of text, music
and thought, curated by Florentine artist Daniele Bartolini and Dr. Donato
Santeramo, seamlessly integrates elements of a hybrid concert and dramatized
lecture. Renowned musician Andrea Gozzi contributes suggestive music to enhance
the overall auditory experience, simultaneously delving into the intricacies of
one of the preeminent poems in Western literature, Dante’s Divina Commedia.
Central to the performance is
Dante Alighieri–the “Everyman”–a middle-aged Middle-Ages Florentine, and his
descent into hell.
Spectators will be immersed in
the performance, unlocking the meaning of each canto through Santeramo's
lectures while revelling in the musicality of Medieval Italian spoken by
Bartolini, enhanced by Gozzi’s carefully crafted soundtrack. The event promises
to deliver audiences into the very heart of Dante's insightful journey.
