Tourism & Day Off Ideas

Part of working at the Stratford Festival is you get to explore our beautiful city. On this page you will find resources for activities around town. For information on fitness centres, spiritual services, restaurant, food and beverage shopping, caregiving and pet support etc. please explore the pages in the drop down menu in the navigation bar. Please keep in mind that this information is provided for ease of reference only. Local businesses and their staffs can change often, and the Festival does not endorse or recommend individual businesses.

The city of Stratford has many wonderful things to offer, but unfortunately, some members of the community from marginalized groups have had difficult experiences here. Six percent of the city’s population of 31,000 identified as a visible minority in the 2016 census, so it can feel quite mono-cultural. We would appreciate you letting us know of any discomfort you experience, whether at work or in town. This will help us better support you and the Festival community. If you have any personal concerns, please contact Daviorr Snipes, Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion or Company Manager, Hilary Nichol.

FESTIVAL FACT:

At 8:15pm on July 13, 1953, all the church bells in Stratford rang to herald the first performance. All the factory whistles sounded at 8:20pm. The fanfares were played at 8:25pm and the canon went off at 8:30pm.

This historical fact was provided by Nora Polley.
