If you have experience as a teaching artist or are interested in making arts education a part of your work, we’d love to connect with you.
In all of our Education work, we think about learning as change: in ourselves, in the way we think about each other and in the way we imagine the world. The bulk of our educational programming and resources are built to support engagement with the artistic work on our stages.
There are a number of ways to get involved in 2025 including, but not limited to:
You can learn more about our Education programming under “LEARN” on our website: https://www.stratfordfestival.ca/Learn
You will be paid for this work!
For Chats, we pay $25 for 30 minutes.
For Workshops, we pay $150 for 60 minutes (if teaching alone) and $100 for 60 minutes (if team-teaching). Preparation is included in the hourly fee.
We welcome all who are interested to take part!
We do not have a set curriculum or pedagogy and welcome multiple and diverse ways of teaching and learning. We offer teaching artist training sessions online and in person throughout the year and are also happy to support you, as needed. We ca provide resources, examples and templates; offer guidelines on inclusive pedagogies and virtual teaching and learning practices; brainstorm and discuss your ideas; and, as needed, act as a test or practice audience prior to the program or event.
The Education Department is located in the Office area on the Admin Level of the Festival Theatre. It is near the Publicity office.
We are a team of five: Lois Adamson (Education Director), Katherine Laing (Associate Education Director), Heather Debling (Education Associate), Kerri-Lee Funk (Education Associate) and Arielle Zamora (Education Associate).
We all work hybrid and some of us work part-time, so our joint email is often the best way to reach us: educate@stratfordfestival.ca.
